A limited number of continuing Barnard students are able to live in Columbia University residence halls (and vice-versa) each year through the Barnard/Columbia Housing Exchange (typically 30 to 40 students per year).
Please note that housing options like The Bayit, International House, and Alpha Delta Phi (ADP) (starting in Fall 2023) are not considered part of undergraduate housing and are not part of the Barnard/Columbia Housing Exchange. Students who move into these locations would cease to be eligible for participation in the Room Selection process and would lose their guarantee of housing for future semesters. Additionally, students who choose to live in these locations would be classified by the Barnard Financial Aid office as living off-campus and may be eligible for less financial aid. Students are encouraged to discuss with the Res Life office and/or Financial Aid office before choosing to cancel campus housing to live in one of those locations instead.
